Purpose Herein we evaluated the effects of platelet concentrate (PC) and platelet-poor plasma (PPP) on bone repair using noncritical defects in calvaria rabbits compared them to presence TGF-β1 osteocalcin reparative sites. Methods Five 8.7 mm diameter were created 15 animals. Each defect was treated differently, autograft (ABG), ABG associated with PC (ABG + PC), PPP PPP), isolated PPP, blood clot (control). The animals submitted euthanasia second, fourth sixth week post-surgery. Results that received ABG+PC or demonstrated lower formation when specimens same period. These results coincided significant higher immunopositivity for PC, cytokine group PPP. However, either also correlated osteocalcin. Likewise, these similar findings only control. Conclusions not effective applied association ABG. Similarly, use beneficial optimizing repair.
